Mancala is very likely the oldest known strategy game in the world. The favourite board game in Asia and Africa is played by 2 persons. The aim of the game is to collect more playing pieces than your opponent. The pieces are collected in the long bowls, known as Kalaha, situated at the either end of the playing field.
To start with, divide all the stones among the side bowls, should be 4 each. All the stones on the right half of the board belong to the player on the right and the ones on the left to the opponent. Each player takes a turn taking the stones, beans, marbles, etc from the selected bowl and places one at the time subsequently in the bowls anti-clockwise. Only your own though. If the last piece is placed in their own Kalaha, they get to do a bonus round. This can be repeated as much you like. When the last piece is placed in the Active players own empty hole and the opponent still has pieces directly opposite in one of their holes, are all the pieces “belong” to the winning player and placed in their Kalaha. The game ends once a player has no playing pieces left. The traditional board game requires some time, like chess, to perfect strategy to win. This game requires concentration and patience.
